The carafal

The reason why the so characteristic carafal began to be set up back in the 70s was already the rivalry that existed with the neighboring street, since in the lower part of the enclosure a carafal was once put up in which many people went up against it. to see the bull It was then, when the rock decided to set up a carafal in that area where they put it, with only the help of some drums and some boards on the ground to get on, building everything around it with wood. In this way, the rock could enjoy the days of heifers, since then they were held for three or four days, being a real party. In this way, and for the first time, it was proposed to hire a brass band so that those who could have a great time every afternoon with the typical snack.

In 1984, the possibility of renewing said carafal was raised, in which, apart from the annual fee, each partner paid 9,000 pesetas (€54) for its construction. For those August festivities, the Peña San Joaquín would display one of the best carafals, large and with an iron structure, which was the sensation of the festivities. ​
