The long-awaited festivities in the Sant Xotxim neighborhood begin their programming with the traditional “Entrà”. This is the inaugural act of the festivities, where all the xotximeros and xotximeras congregate in the Bar Juventud waiting for the rocket at 00:00 that gives way to 10 days of partying, music, brotherhood, passion and devotion.

 

To the sound of the music, a caravan of light, sound, chants and parties begins that runs through the streets of Vilavella until it reaches Calle Barranco, accompanying the bullfighting truck with cars decked out with flags, the peñas and the xaranga to the disengagement of them.

 

A day of emotions, reunions and a lot of going on, continuing the atmosphere until dawn at the xotximero inn with the local DJ Emilio Darás.

 

A few years ago, the presentation of the queens and court of honor was celebrated on the same day, a whole cast of xotximer beauties who wore and presided over the events scheduled during their year. Unfortunately, since the year 2002 it has stopped celebrating and has not started again.

 

The first of the queens was crowned in 1976 being Paquita Vicent Caballer, and from this year consecutively until 2002 where the last queen Mónica Recatalá Adsuara was crowned.

 

Note that in 2001 the 25th anniversary of this act was celebrated, bringing together all the previous queens, being a very emotional act and in which Rocío Agut Roglá was proclaimed, queen of the festivities this year, which had the detail to sponsor a bull from the Cardenilla ranch.
