"Los Samueles" Club
History
In the year 2000, the union of a group of friends and xotximeros appeared in the San Joaquín neighborhood who never imagined how far they would go years later. It all began with the organization of a series of trips to see bullfights in different bullrings in Spain, which would give rise to the Peña los Samueles.
Such was the union and affection that this group began to embrace that a few years later, a dinner organized at the beginning of August with music and dancing to enjoy the whole night became a tradition.
However, things did not stop there and the best was yet to come. And it is that the club was able to organize bullfighting talks for several years with renowned figures from the world of bullfighting and very significant for our neighborhood, such as Samuel Flores father and son, Enrique Ponce or Dámaso González, among others. These talks had an important impact, not only among the people of our neighborhood, but it would go much further.
The climax of the Peña los Samueles came with the spectacular concert of pasodobles that would be organized for several years, by the Santa Cecilia de la Vilavella Musical Group. This had a great impact among the xotximeros and, to this day, people still remember that spectacle with special affection.
